Highway 61

Highway 61 are an experienced rock 'n' roll band of some 30 years standing. Objective: To entertain. To enjoy the music. The band have played some tremdendous gigs over the years . Most recent 15/1/2016 at the Cavern in Liverpool where they performed their 'Dylanesque' show was a fabulous sell out night and their fifth Liverpool appearance. previous visits INTERNATIONAL BEATLES WEEK 21/Aug 2014 also at THE CAVERN and 2011 was a similar visit. The band played the finale for the Matthew Street Festival bill (Beatle week) in 2003 in front of 6,000 people.We were back again in 2005.

Middlesbrough music fest 2006 was another highlight playing on the same bill as Oceon Colour scene. In 2009 The Cambridge BDS asked us to support the legendary Carolyn Hester and that was a rare and lovely occasion. 2011 we were part of an all star line up at Dunstable with Mungo Jerry and Alvin Stardust and other sixties and seventies based acts to support the Macmillan Cancer fund. Basically though the real groundwork that we love is the north east pub circuit, and that is where you will find us playing the songs of The Stones, Buddy Holly /The Beatles /Dylan etc .
